Altus strengthens international partnerships at Swiss Smart Factory 2024

On December 10th, 2024, the Swiss Smart Factory (SSF) opened its doors to the public for the first time, hosting a full day dedicated to discovery and networking. Altus proudly took part in this event, held in Biel/Bienne, Switzerland. Organized in collaboration with the United Nations Industrial Development Organization, the event brought together over 200 visitors and 32 exhibitors. 

The SSF has established itself as the first Industry 4.0 testing and demonstration center in Switzerland. Known as a "supermarket of ideas," it provides a dynamic environment where companies can access advanced infrastructure for research, development, and innovation. As new projects are introduced to the market, the platform continues to evolve, fostering the next cycle of innovation in products and services. 

The event highlighted new strategies for a more flexible industry and emphasized the importance of collaboration and innovation in Industry 4.0. It also featured interactive and dynamic exhibitions, where visitors explored products and services developed by SSF partners through demonstrations and guided tours. This initiative offered a unique opportunity for businesses of all sizes to explore technologies tailored to their specific needs and products. 

A center of excellence for Industry 4.0 

The vision of the Swiss Smart Factory is clear: to be Switzerland’s leading competence center for applied research and technology transfer in Industry 4.0, with international recognition. Every new project strengthens its partner ecosystem and expands shared knowledge, benefiting all participants in the fourth industrial revolution. 

The first edition of the SSF Open Day was a resounding success, marking a new chapter in the history of industrial innovation. With plans for a second edition in 2025, the SSF reaffirms its commitment to creating opportunities for connecting businesses and driving digital transformation.
