HVEX impulse generators operate with Nexto PLC
With a history of operations in several segments of the international industry, Altus offers equipment capable of being used in solutions for most different applications in the market. One of these solutions was the automation of impulse generators developed by HVEX, a manufacturer of equipment for high voltage and high current testing and monitoring. The devices are used in tests of atmospheric impulses, maneuvers or current, processes that are part of the testing stage in the production of transformers, insulators, terminations, circuit breakers, among other power transmission products.
In general, the project aimed to automate the activation of equipment and process control. For this demand, Nexto Series programmable controllers were used, which were chosen for their ruggedness, ease of programming and integration with other devices. The architecture used counted on a NX3004 CPU, the first in the family with an integrated power supply, as well as the NJ1001, NJ2001 and NJ6000 I / O modules, communicating with the other system items through MODBUS TCP/IP protocol.
The use of Altus technology brought more safety to the operation of the equipment by reducing human interference, which decreased the chance of accidents.
